Progress, at last!

I finished a subject! At the third try! T.T I'm so happy I could cry. Scream and cry and roll around on the ground. One down, three to go! School this term has not been at the top of my accomplishments...

In other news, what does one wear to a baptism? I constantly find myself out of "fancy clothes" that properly fit into the conservative world of old traditional ceremonies. Probably because I think regular or random clothes are so much more fun and awesome and pretty than fancy clothes. Fancy clothes, to reach any level of awesomeness, require a ton of accessories and fancying up hair and stuff. And who cba buying and fixing all that for an awkward ceremony that you go to a handful of times in your life and that you don't believe in? Bleh. Fancy clothes make me feel like a Christian ajumma (Korean middle-aged-to-old woman) who emigrated to the conservative part of the US and never hangs out with anything other than other ajummas in small wooden churches to complain about their modern children. And they feel like I'm wrapped in saran wrap (= gladpack), figuratively speaking. I'd need a very particular kind of fancy clothes, that work with both my own style and my unwillingness to wear fancy clothes, and with the demands of my peers and circumstances (read: family and their friends). Fat chance of ever finding that.

I need a suit. A simple, mildly feminine, light but not peach suit, maybe white. Pants, not skirt. Yeah. Where to find those? Gah, they probably cost a ton...

Suggestion: This time of year H&M usually has not too expensive light suit jackets that should look dressy enough over a blouse or feminine t-shirt. Jeans should go fine with it, I think. Also Newyorker sometimes have quite decent clothes, but remember that you'll get what you pay for in quality! I'm sure you'll find something that suits you^^

Not my jeans :s well, a pair of neutral jeans I can always have use for later. Pro tip! ^^ thanks.

What's the difference between a blouse and a shirt? Blouses are fluffy? Or is blouse just a shirt for women?

Allow me to share my personal opinion that *you* do not need pretty or fancy clothes to look good. I'm 99 % sure it doesn't matter what you wear as long as its not looking dirty, ragged or reasonably colored (I mean don't go looking like a traffic light on acid).Just make your hair in a nice way and put on a smile :) You and your own style is what makes you pretty anyway.

Also events like that are all about the cake in the end anyway. Screw clothes :p

Previous writer say it true of course! ^^

Well, I'm not an expert on blouses and shirts but I think that blouses usually are made in a thinner, or as you say "fluffier", fabric that breath better hot spring/summer days ;) But I dunno.

One rule though; never ever wear something you feel awkward in and wouldn't wear otherwise- it showes. But I think you already figured that out ^^

I figured it out, but I still do it sometimes to please my family :p

I'm flattered that you think I look good in anything, and all that... but I'm an appreciator of art and all things pretty and it makes me a little picky. More than that though, I want to show my personality through my clothes. Why? Because people will treat you as they perceive you. I'd get different reactions if I dressed completely in pink and pastels, or in black leather and studs. I don't like being misinterpreted or to have people make faulty assumptions about me. So I'd like to let my clothes do some explaining of who I am... you know what I mean, Wolf, don't you?

I have a white suit-jacket you can borrow if you want to...

As you say a blouse is from what I can tell just the traditional name for a shirt with a female cut. But it is generally more girly in it's style as well.
